Tuesday and Physical Therapy

Here's Ivee riding home from the hospital last Friday.
She had a pretty good day today, and a descent night of sleep. The physical therapist came by and did an eval with her. We are going to work on getting her neck muscles strong again, and work on getting her back to rolling over and eventually sitting up. Also, to get her to push up on her legs. All the things that she should be doing for a 8 month old. She did well with her 2nd dose of chemotherapy yesterday. Her feeds are still bothering her, but we have found a way to do the bolus feeds (where we just pour it in the tube) so that she isn't as irratated. The continuous night feeds are better now, also, since we have changed the rate of cc's she receives an hour. I had to give her my first shot today. Daddy has been doing that, and mommy does all the other medical stuff. Changing dressings, giving meds, and etc. But today I had to give the shot, cause we didn't want to wake her up. So, we'll continue to heal, and continue chemo, and continue to learn again.
I also want to say give out a special tahnk you. 1st...to all of you who comment. It is such a encouragement, and sometimes, just makes me laugh. And we all know laughter is the best medicine. 2nd... There have been many people and churches who have been giving their support through prayer and financially. God bless yu all. You have allowed us to be there for each other and Ivee.

Dear Foley Family,

I came across your message left on a friend's site. My daughter was diagnosed with the same tumor when she was 10 months old back in May of 2005. It breaks my heart every time I learn of another child going through this. It may be a long road but Ivee will do wonderfully.

God Bless,

Hope, you are such a wonderful loving mother. We pray for your strength. You are learning so much in taking care of your gift from God, nursing skills, and we moms are the best nurses in the world. Have a good night.

What a beautiful baby!!! I can't imagine how scary it must be trying to take care of Ivee at home with no nurses! I am praying that you will have the wisdom to know what to do, and to have the strength to take care of everything. And of course, we continue to pray for complete healing for little Ivee!!

The new pic of Ivee is precious. Emma just saw it and said, "I love that baby!" She's the one that reminds us at meal times to pray for Ivee (as if we would forget!). We're praying for you in taking care of her. I know that can be scary. I'm an RN but when Mary was sick as a baby with asthma it frightened me. I always worried about her breathing treatments, wheezing, etc. Even though I "knew" how to care for my patient, my heart said, "this is my baby". That changes everything. Listen to your heart-it will never be wrong. God is guiding you and taking care of you. We look forward to more updates on our little angel and pray not only for her healing, but for strenth, energy and comfort for you and Emmett. I'll leave you w/this from a Beth Moore study I'm doing: We who are Christians have God's "all surpassing power" in our "jars of clay" (2Cor. 4:7). Let's not wait until we're at the end of our strength to utilize it! Let's call on God to fill us with His all surpassing power day in and day out. His "incomparably great power" is accessible daily for those who believe! This power is the same He used to raise Jesus from the dead (Eph 1:19-20). What more could we need?
We love you guys!

It's been a long time but I wanted to wish you and your family well and know I am praying for you all in this hard time. God already has his hand on her in the way it was all revealed.. almost seems miraculous in itself! Let's hope for them to keep coming. You were always a strong girl- keep your head high and stay determined!!!! Ivee couldn't have a better mom.

With love,

Hi Hope,
I hope ya'll are having better days. I just wanted to tell you about a great diaper rash cream, it's called "BALMEX". My lil' grandson has had a bad rash,(because his bowels are loose from breast feeding) and the Dr. recommended this. It is great! My Daughter had tried everything & this worked. She wouldn't be without it! Instead of wipes use a warm bath cloth, dry area, then apply this ointment. It cleared up the rash within a day or so. Hope all the lil' problems straighten out soon. We're still praying for Ivee. God Bless,
B. Jackson
