One full day at home

We have been home for more than one full day. Ivee is doing well. We have gotten many smiles from her. We believe she knows she is home, but we are not sure. I believe she does know that is not at the place where people mess with her all the time. Last night was rough. She is not responding very well to her feeds. They hurt her stomach, I believe. She was on continuous feed last night, and after a few hours of no one getting good sleep, I turned it off. Then we all got about 3 hours of sleep. We are cutting her feeds down some tonight to see if this helps. She is gagging horribly, causing her to heave. We are giving her medicine to keep her from being nauseated. She needs alot of attention with all her meds, suctioning, and feedings. It definitely won't be easy. Em and I enjoy being home with her, but it is kinda scary knowing that if something happens, there isn't a nurse at the call button. Pray that she gets over her sinusitous, ear infection, and urinary tract infection. The mucus drainage is her worst enemy right now. And also that she will begin to respond positively to her feedings. And pray that Emmett and I will be wise with her care. Thanks for your attention to Ivee and your urgency to lift her up in prayer. It was told to me that my little boy, Ethan, was praying Wednesday night at church for Ivee. And when he was done he told his teacher. God heard my prayer. He hears all prayers. I know it is true, and none of your prayers are in vain. God bless.

Hi, Hope! I was SO glad to read your blog tonight . . . I am thankful that your "no blog" days were the result of being terribly busy and not the result of something going terribly wrong. My prayer is that God will, indeed, grant you wisdom as you learn to care for Ivee at home. Love and prayers . . . Mary Beth

Hope, Emmett, Carl, Gus is at home tonight, and Beth Pinyerd continue to lift you and your precious family up. We know the power of prayer during times like these. As an infant Gus was very sick, we were in and out of the hospital, so we know how that first night and day are at home, as parents you do feel alone, but know your brothers and sisters in Christ tonight are lifting you up. The Lord has awakened us at all times of the night to pray for Ivee. Opelika First Baptist has Ivee on their 24 hour prayer chain. That is the church Carl and I met in and where our church body spent 24 hour a day praying for Gus the first 4 months of his life. Gus is a walking miracle due to the prayers of faithful people. One day when Ivee is 21 years old you will be able to say the same thing, Hope and Emmett. I know you are tired, I know you are numb, but through the tiredness just know you can rest in His arms with a Holy Spirit sleep, which is truly the very best. I am praying for Ivee to have a good night of rest tonight.

Carl and Gus finally have gotten over the flu they have been dragging with the past 3 weeks. I am praying that Ivee will be protected from flus and virus during these winter months.

May God Bless,
Beth Pinyerd

Hello Foley Family - So glad you are all home together!! I am praying for you all that God will continue giving you all super strength - new strength with you tired hands. Your son Ethan blessed me with those words "God hears my prayer." Faith like a child - God loves it! My friend says there is a scripture in Proverbs 31 that says that "my arms are strong for the task" and she thinks of that everytime she is feeling overwhelmed. I think of it now when I feel the same. I can't find the scripture though - Ha!Ha! I know it has got to be there - she is a pretty relible source. I will forward it as soon as she gives me the exact location. Sleep well I pray. God is working it all out. I believe it! Do you remember the fear you had when you came home from the hospital with this new baby and you thought - "why did they let me leave with this baby? I don't know what I am doing!" But you learned quick through trial and error and God kept the baby safe. He'll do that now for Ivee - you both are a better nurse for her then any you will find at the hospital. You have parental God given know how when it comes to your kids. I am up to late - just thought I would check one more time before I went to sleep then of course I had to comment as always. Many blessings - Paula Casallo

I am glad to hear that Ivee is home. I hope she will adjust and continue to improve. I haven't been able to check the blog lately as both of the boys and I have been sick with Strep. I didn't realize how much that wiped a person out since I never had it. I am glad to know that Ivee is doing well enough to go home. She will probably improve by leaps and bounds being able to be surrounded by the people who love her. God is watching over you all!

God Bless!

Dear Hope and Emett ,

We were excited to read the blog this morning and catch up the wonderful news that everyone is under one roof.

We will pray for Ivve's feeds and your rest. Two truths from Gods word to encourage you.

Proverbs 3:24 SAys that when you liest down ,thou shalt not be afriad, when you lie down you sleep will be sweet and Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked when it cometh. For the Lord shall be your confidence and shall not allow your foot to be taken.

In the night when the enemy bombards your sleep and your thoughts and makes your little Ive restless and uncomfortable remeber these truths
and say them out loud to her and to you
so that you will be bolstered.

The second truth from Gods word is too lengthy to write but comes from Psalms 91:1-16. I taught this to Merideth the year before I was diagnosed and it gave her much comfort for my situation. Jacob is now learning it.

Surley as Ethan said :HE hears all our prayers. YOu are loved
