The day she got her glasses! Both of my beautiful, nerdy girls!! I love them so...and Ethan too...mostly!
The day she was the Kindergarten class Superstar and got a reward!
She is still ever my sweet baby girl.
She's been struggling lately with congestion and with her problems swallowing, we ask that you would pray for her in this. Every time I seem to get her "cleared up" it doesn't last long and she has difficulty with this drainage and congestion again and again. It interferes with her ability to breathe good breaths and it also interferes with our trying to get her to eat...or taste test, since that's really what we are trying to get her to do.
On a good note. Hippotherapy (horse therapy) is really helping Ivee with her stability, strength and walking. Her aid at school, Ms. Cheryl, says she doesn't want any help and tries to walk around the room independently. (Which scares her aid to death, but she's like a grandma to her!) She did have a not so good fall last week and hit her head on the playground. I did go up there to make sure all was well, I was relieved to find no knots on the head, her shunt and all signs of injury were fine. I reminded Cheryl and a few others, as Ivee is learning to walk, as with any baby/crawler learns, she will fall! But, poor Ms. Cheryl was shook up the rest of the day and just wanted to carry her, but Ivee wouldn't let that happen. She said she was fine and to let her walk!
God is still healing my baby girl. Emmett and I are praying that by this time next year she will be able to climb steps unassisted, not need that walker or wheelchair, and she will run to see her mommy after school instead of wobbly along holding Cheryl's hand!
As for Brittney and Ethan...Britt is 16 now, and Junior, and we are awaiting the arrival of Emmett's new vehicle soon so that Britt can have dad's car. She is doing well driving, independently for 2 1/2 months now, and I enjoy the freedom of not having to run all the errands. She is doing well in school, and has an easy load this semester.
Ethan had a rough start, but is thriving in the world of MIDDLE SCHOOL as a 7th grader! He has honor roll right now, and has been accepted into an after school program for gifted artist that is offered to 8th graders. The art teacher was told of Ethan's talents by some other teachers that had seen his drawing book and told her about him. She has him working on his first painting that she will have him enter into a contest here in Alabama!
Emmett and I began a new journey this past Sunday. After a long search and waiting on the Lord, I have accepted the role of Worship Minister at a new church start here in our city. I have many years experience leading worship, but God has grown my abilities over the last 4 years by stretching me out of my comfort zone! Emmett, who has accepted a shared role as Youth Minister, and I are excited to see what is going to happen in the life our new church body here.
Emmett also received a promotion at his job, and I am very proud of him and how far he has come and brought our family from the very beginning of our journey with Ivee. It has not been an easy road, but the Lord has shown his love and grace to us along the way. I still have to rely on him daily. He is the source of my strength, and we know that he is the provider, comforter and healer for this family!
Thank you, readers, friends and family for the love and support you give to us.
Keep praying and BELIEVING in a miracle in my Ivee's life!!!!
